Joy Gospel Singers, a leading Gospel Choir in Malta was founded in the Parish of Santa Lucia in October 2002. It brought together an energetic group of singers and musicians who enjoy performing Gospel music. Under the musical direction of the founder Michelle Abela, the choir, which includes more than 50 members, interprets various styles of Gospel including traditional and Negro spirituals as well as contemporary Christian music. Joy Gospel Singers’ vibrant and uplifting style of Christian music is the result of the clever musical arrangements of the director and the talented interpretation of the soloists, musicians and the choir arranged in Soprano, Alto and Tenor voices.  The message is one of hope and encouragement.  The live band includes Avertano Grech on keyboard, Vince Saliba on drums and Antoine Schembri on bass guitar.
